Bend Oregon Tent Rental Sizing
How to choose the right size of tent for your wedding, event, or party.
You’re having a Central Oregon Wedding. Summer months in Bend Oregon are gorgeous, but can still necessitate Bend Oregon tent rentals. The almost guaranteed summer sun can be much too hot for most folks, especially the elderly. And if you’re getting married during spring, fall, or winter, then a tent is almost a must. Either way, here are some things to think about when renting a tent for your special occasion. How big of a tent rental do you need? This all depends on how many guests will be there, what style table rentals, a dance floor, buffet lines, staging, etc. Just to start, round tables require larger Bend Oregon tent rentals in comparison to rectangular tables. And staging can sometimes require a slightly larger, elevated tent. These things certainly need to be coordinated before making your reservation. Make sure to ask your party rental company about sizing.
What surface will the tent be going on? The most efficient method of securing a tent is using stakes. This can be done on dirt, grass, and even asphalt. If your party rental company is using stakes, you’ll need to let them know of any water/ sprinkler lines or anything else under the surface that will damage if hit by a stake. If your event is at a city venue, they will definitely have the layout of any underground systems. And most often it’s easy to figure out sprinkler lines by just turning them on. Typically stakes
are 30 – 36 inches long. If stakes are not an option, Bend party rental companies will use 55 gallon water barrels on each of the legs. These have a cost associated with them, and do require a water source within a couple hundred feet. Make sure to plan accordingly.
What time of day will the function take place? Make sure to pay attention to where the sun sets. There’s nothing worse than sun glare when everybody is sitting down eating. Consider using walls to block out unnecessary sunlight. Will you need any lighting or heating? These are things to consider when discussing rentals with your party rental company.
What style tent do you prefer? Pole tents have the attractive circus style peaked tent look, but do have poles at the center of the tent rental. Frame tents do not have poles at the center, but can sometimes cost more because of labor requirements in putting them up and taking them down. There’s other style tents, but these two are definitely the most common and most cost effective. Talk with your rental company about seeing pictures of the various tents.
It is impossible to expect you to figure out all the necessities when choosing a tent. Start planning early, and make sure to discuss these things with your party rental company. More often than not, party rental companies will allow changes within a few weeks prior to your event. Find out right away, so you’re not scrambling last minute for rentals, which should be the last thing you need to be worrying about on your special day.
